On March 15, the time has come again. In cooperation with the Open Reproducible Data Science and Statistics group (ORDS) at the University of Rostock, TKFDM will organise its 2nd ReproHack. This time, the Microverse Cluster at FSU Jena will join in for support.
But what is a ReproHack?
During a ReproHack (Reproducibility Hackathon) we aim to reproduce published scientific results. During the workshop, you will work either as part of a group or individually to reproduce results from published code and open data. The goal of a ReproHack is not to discredit researchers or their work, but to understand the importance of carefully documenting all data. You will be given the opportunity to work with real data and research software, and will be asked to analyze various aspects of reproducibility. Our goal is to bring together researchers of all disciplines and expertise to generate new insights. This workshop will give you the opportunity to learn from other researchers from different fields and experience levels.
In our ReproHack, we will briefly discuss the importance of the topic "reproducibility of data" and then introduce the programming languages R and Python and how to use them with the platform Jupyter Notebook. In the actual hackathon, breakout sessions will then be formed depending on the programming language and paper chosen. Finally, the results and experiences will be shared with the group.
You can choose from a large selection of papers on the ReproHack Hub platform. If you are a researcher from Thuringia or Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, you can also submit your own papers, which will be prioritized in our ReproHack. Please also have a look at the Save the date News!
